Step by Step
Before you leave — or right when you step out the door — open Cairn Memories and start a journey. Tell us where you're headed (optional), who you're capturing for, and how actively you want Rocky to check in. The whole setup takes under a minute.
You can plan ahead and schedule a journey start for a future date. Or tap "Start Now" and be capturing within seconds.
Rocky, your AI journey companion, wakes up and begins paying attention. He checks in at natural moments — when you arrive somewhere new, when you've been still for a while, when the cairn's history connects to a place you're visiting — but never so often that he becomes the trip.
You can capture through the Dynamic Island without opening the app, through Rocky's chat, through the Share Sheet from any other app, or by asking Siri to "add to my journey." Every capture source feeds the same rock.
As your journey unfolds, your moments accumulate in real time. At any point you can open the rock's moment list and review what's been captured. The AI groups related captures — a photo and voice note taken within a few minutes — into coherent moments automatically.
Split moments, merge them, add captions, highlight the ones that matter most. Or leave it alone and let Rocky handle the organization.
When your journey ends, complete your rock. Rocky prompts a brief reflection — a few words about the trip that will live alongside your moments. Set keys if you want some content to reveal at a specific time or place. Choose privacy settings for each moment.

A single rock can be placed on multiple cairns simultaneously. Place it on your family's Private Cairn, the wedding Event Cairn, and a shared destination cairn — all at once, with different captions and visibility for each context.
